And the Oscar goes to...La grande bellezza!
On Friday we discussed the exciting possibility of the Italian film,
La grande bellezza, or 'The Great Beauty' in English, winning
the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Well, last night was the big night - the 86th Academy Awards - and we are so excited that
La grande bellezza came away with the Oscar!
An Italian film had not been nominated for an Academy Award since 2005's
La bestia bel cuore and had not won since Roberto Benigni's
La vita è bella in 1998.
A huge congratulations to Paolo Sorrentino for this incredible recognition and honour!
We highly recommend going to see this stunning film, now playing at
